I bought my 2017 Massey from a Kubota dealer who took it as a trade in but just wanted to turn and unload it. I cannot find out the original dealership where this tractor was purchased. Everything is fine with it, but I want to figure out what warranty might transfer to me, and I would like to have a friendly relationship with a dealer. The Kubota dealership is OK, but they care nothing about this little red thing.
I have a couple of Massey dealers about 50 miles from me, and I have called them both about service area, looking up the serial number, finding the original dealership, and advising me about any warranty in force for me. Neither have been much help. They can't seem to look up the serial number, don't have answers about what warranty will transfer, and do not even follow up on my need for a mid mount mower. I only have one key for it. Where can I get a second one? The engine has only 20 hours on it. Am I in their service area for a 50 hour service? And so on. My other tractor is a Kubota, and I am used to access to abundant information, etc.
I hear that the GC1700 series has a five year warranty for some of it (power train?). If that warranty is transferable, I then should be under warranty for two more years. But I can't seem to find clear answers. Can the serial number be looked up anywhere? Do I need to locate the original dealer? Is there a transfer process? Or is it all past and void?
Any of you folks know, or know how to find out?
