My two favorite weather gadgets...other than a weather radio...

Just a couple fun gadgets I like...

When the weatherman says you will get half an inch of rain at home or at the farm tomorrow that is always good news, (or bad depending on your situation). I have had one of these rain guages for over 13 years and am always comparing to see what I really got from the heavens above. It is interesting to see what an exact amount of rain will do to your plants and the growing cycle. This one does not require any batteries or power.

Number two is a pager sized lightning detector that lets you know how far away lightning is, and whether it is moving your way or not.

Dave, that rain gauge does look like a dandy one, but it ought to be since it costs 10 times as much as mine. That lightning detector is something entirely new to me; interesting gadget.

Boys, Redbug caused me to by both. The lightning strike detector is cool as it gets.

Every rain guage I have bought breaks when it freezes. Although the one Dave listed is not cheap, it is the same as the weather sevice puts out and it is very sturdy and accurate.............let it rain

Have the same raingauge. The only problem, it only handles 11" (Have had it over-run once or twice due to not being able to check it for a day or getting 12"+ in a day). Very nice.
