My son moved back from Tennessee about 4 months ago, and is buying our large house. He wanted to build a garage for his Jeep / car projects. So, he started videoing the build, and put it on his YouTube channel. Here is a link to some of the first tractor work clearing the site. It is only a few minutes long, so if you like it, check out some of the other ones he has. He will be putting more short ones up soon.

We are sticking around.... I subdivided the property a couple of years ago, built a small cottage on the adjoining property. So, I can walk over to his house...

The son is still working on his next video segment of the concrete pour, but he sent me some snapshots. We did it in two pours, over 2 days. It was only us two, each half was 8 yards of concrete. Did not want it to get away from us.

Too late now, but why no rebar in the middle section?

There were short 3 ft sections every 2 ft perpendicular into each side. Not sure if you can see them in the video. I know they are there for sure because I stepped on 2 of them, popping them up through the freshly poured side .

All concrete cracks. All concrete.

The purpose of rebar is to keep the two cracked halves inline. To do that requires bar running both directions intersecting all over the pad. Then expansion cuts to direct the cracks.

I'm not familiar with your area, soil type, and/or climate. So my comments above apply to Missouri.

Following your project. Thanks for posting the threads.
