Since I like to build things, how well do you guys think my home made potato plow/sub soiled will work? My thought was to use it to make trenches for my drain pipe. Will it work?
When I bought the box blade it was missing the center ripper (mine only has three total). So I went to tsc and bought one they had. It was two inches longer, but the adjustment holes are very close.
Anyways, I got to thinking. Instead of buying a subsoiler why not make one? I had extra material around so.... I made an adapter for my trailer hitch/Reese hitch that I made... I drilled and tapped two holes in the tip of the ripper and bolted a small plow blade that I got at tsc for 6 or 7 bucks.
I haven't tried out the plow yet, but I did use the riper by itself and it works awesome! I might have to make some modifications to the plow because the angle of it when bolted to the ripper might be too far forward... Idk yet.
I took a piece of 2" box tube and used a porta band to cut out a slot for the ripper to fit.
Then I capped it with some 3/8" thick angle and added a forward and reverse stop on it. Then I drilled and tapped the tip and bolted the plow blade on
Like I said, I might have to make some angle changes as my top link is shortened all the way in this pic and might make initial ground engagement difficult
