My new toy

I welded a hitch receiver into my front bumper and modified a cargo carrier to fit my 25 gallon sprayer. A 4 way metal trailer connector in the bumper supplies the power. I'am also working on a 2000 lb winch to slide into this hitch also.

So your sprayer is out in front of the tractor? Are you using a boom or a hand held wand?

I keep telling myself I need to do something like that. Our lots are all gravel and it takes about three 5 gallon backpacks each time we go around with Round Up....which is about every three weeks.

It,s out front. Hand held wand. 25ft hose. Looks great, works great and could double as weight if I needed it.

Eugene, you made me realize just how much I "need" a small sprayer, so I bought one yesterday. One of independent equipment reps we deal with had one that has been sitting in his barn for 10 years, 30 gallon, 3 pt., boom and wand, adjustable pressure regulator, hypro 6 roller pump w/ pto attachemnt (seriously capable of more than any of my Yanmars will put out), and he wanted $250 for it. I watched my rear-view most of the way home for the sheriff....

(The pump alone sells for about $150 with the pto sleeve). The big advantage to the roller pump over the 12v is the relief line that provides agitation in the tank to help keep things mixed.

There is apparently a learning curve here. I sprayed for mosquitos this evening, and the spray was heavy, and the tank emptied quickly despite my moving along at a pretty good ground speed. I then learned I should have been ground spraying at perhaps 40 psi rather than 160. Oh well. Next time. I am glad you posted your pic...it motivated me to get this, which I should have done years ago. Every spring we spend $200+ to have the eaves, etc. sprayed as yellowjackets try to nest in our house (it happened once, and it is not fun to have full grown yellowjackets in your house in January). Now I will buy either the concentrate or the WP for a quarter of that and spray it myself.
