Hello all.I Have been following the posts off and on for several months now and have learned alot. I have even gotten up the courage to post a coulple of times. A big thanks to all of you who have shared your knowledge and wisdom with all of us who don't have them, it has helped me to make a decision to buy a tractor. Good, bad, or otherwise, I now have a tractor and, though I was nervous for awhile after shelling out the cash for a used, non-American-made machine, so far I have had few disappointments and the butterflies are almost gone.

My new "Baby" is a 2002D with a Koyker 80 FEL. I also purchased a 4' Big Bee brand rotary cutter, a 5' Atlas grader blade and a 4' box blade (I can't remember the manufacuterer of the box). The dealer, Sid's Trading Co. in Iuka, MS. even threw in a boom pole.
After a few hours of use, I noticed fluid seeping out around the PTO shaft. I also broke a turn buckle while trying to free it up and tighten the chain so the lift arms wouldn't rub the tires when using the rotary cutter. I called Sid and in a few days, two new sway chains and a PTO shaft seal arrived on my doorstep - no cost to me. Thanks, Sid!! I still need to resolve a few minor issues with the 3-pt lift leaking down, but other than that, I am very impressed with the tractor.

Here she is the day I brought her home. IMG_0013_1.JPG

And here is my definition of a "Lunch Bucket". Actually, I was so excited (and nervous) about having a new toy, I didn't want to come home so my thoughtful and loving wife brought supper out to the farm to me. The only place to sit and eat was.........ON THE TRACTOR, OF COURSE!!!

We are beginning to build a house and the tractor will really come in handy. Wish us luck and thanks again. I love TBN and all the good folks here.

NICE!
Post some pictures of work, too!
From the few threads I've read, those Yanmar units are very dependable. Best of luck.

Congratulations on the new tractor and good luck with the house project. My wife and I are still clearing land where we want to build but we have a way to go before we start building. :)

Only 2 plates of food ??:( How are you going to invite all of us on 2 plates of food:confused: :( :D There is a post here about the 3 point leaking down. I don't know if he has gotten it repaired or not. If your tractor has the handle under the seat , with the motor off and the lift up turn the handle all the way in . Let it sit & see if the 3 point drops

Very nice. I used to have a Yanmar, and the only problem I had with it was that I didn't have enough time in my day to use it as much as I wanted to. They're a great machine.

btw, I see your wife brought the hot sauce too. She's a good woman.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I will try to respond to each of them now.

familyman - I will try to get a few action photos posted soon.

mark777 - I think the hour meter said 0384. Actual or not, who knows.

JDGREEN4ME - Thanks and good luck on your house as well.

kenmac - If you show up for dinner, I'm sure we can "scoop Up" something for you to eat! I haven't had time to troubleshoot the problem with the 3-pt yet, I'm pretty sure it is an o-ring or something simple.

Thomas - You are right, Bubble-Gum Cigars for everyone, they're on me.

sasquatcher - Yes, she did bring the hot sauce but it was for my son. Even when there aren't any tasks that absolutely have to be done, I find myself longing to just riding around on my Yanmar. It gets good enough fuel mileage that I don't feel guilty about it either.

SpaldingTractors (Steve) - About that seal, will a lot of hydraulic fluid pour out when I remove the old one? Thanks, and welcome to TBN.

MJPetersen (Mike) - I have thoroughly enjoyed your comments. Thanks.

Mickey_Fx - I believe in "praising in bublic and scolding in secret". However I also believe that anyone who is dishonest and trying to take advantage of others should be exposed. This keeps the good dealers in business longer and protects the consumers. Thanks.

A Big thanks to all, I have many other questions and issues that I will post as time goes by.
