The dealer delivered my 3038E with the 305 loader and 5' JD rear finish mower. I've had it a week and have a little over 6 hours on it. Only about 2 hours was using the loader. This is my first tractor so this is a new experience.
It was taking 5 hours to mow my 5 acres with a 54" riding mower. Now it can be mowed it in 2 hours with the tractor. The land is flat enough that the JD can run flat out in high range on much of the property. The riding mower maxed out at about 4 mph. The wife didn't think that a 60" RFM would have much of an advantage over a 54" rider mower.
I was lucky to discover a gas station a few miles away with Red off-road diesel. I was amazed at the size of the nozzle. I suppose it's over sized so you can't stick it into a street vehicle. You can fill a yellow 5 gallon 'can' in just a few seconds. I'm not sure if it's low sulfur. I'll have to check because I noticed the sticker on the tractor saying to use the low sulfur fuel only.
I can see that it's going to take a while to get proficient with the loader. I have to think about which way curls or dumps. With some practice that should become automatic.
Just bought a shirt that says "I don't need an excuse to drive my tractor". There's lots of stuff that needs doing.
