My new 2305 -3pt log splitter

Hi everyone! I just got my new 2305 delivered tonight at 7:30 PM!
Man cant wait for this Pittsburgh weather to cooperate so i can go do some diggin!!!

Anyone built one of those 3pt logsplitters??? looking for ideas & suggestions on types/improvements. AND if the 2305s Hydraulic System is cool with it!

welcome aboard! congrats on the new tractor. I love my little 2305.
I assume you got the power beyond if you're thinking of a log splitter, seems like it would be a pain to run one off the front scv's. I don't see why it would be an issue to run one off the power beyond.
how bout some pics? what did you get for attachments?

I have a 2520 that runs a splitter with no problem. I have the rear SCV so I "unplug" the bucket circuits, and plug in the rear. Bungee the scv control arm to the rear and split all day. The splitter is 24 ton! but it works. 4" cylinder. The gpm's are close and the tractor is not moving so you should be OK. The limit might be the 3 pt lift cap. on the 2305.

Thanks for the input. I'll have to get to TSC or Northern Tool to check out cylinders... probably 20-22 ton would be sufficient. Am I right to assume that the only thing the smaller flow rate would mean is slower cycle time?

The gpm will limit speed. The PSI will limit power of the splitter. The weight will limit if you can pick it up. There are some on e-bay for around $300. They spec OK but do not switch to verticle. Mine is horizontal only and the giant logs are still on the ground. Do not get a splitter less than 20 ton from what I'm told. Also check the size of log the unit will split. 24" would be good. Some only split up to 20".

Live near Pgh? Me too. Harrison City. I am checking pics and trying to get my hands on some plans, and get an idea what I can build that will not overtax my 2305.. I was digging 5 hours today for the first time and WOW this little tractor is a little workhorse!

Actually i am in Hempfield Township, near the Hempfield high school on the other side of Fort Allen towards Youngwood. Keep us updated on the log splitter, I have the little red Mf'er and I couldn't imagine doing a lot of things without it.

I built the new 911 dispatch center behind the jail. there is an archery shop I've been to by there im sure you know of... Anyway, I went to Latrobe today and visited Tractor Supply.. they one that looks exactly like what I had in mind, but I dunno if this lil beast could pump it effectively?

That's Nelson's arrows, and its just about 1.5 miles from my house. I actually just picked up my new bow from them yesterday.

How much is TSC asking for the 3PT log splitter. I have seen them a couple of times at TSC but never investigated b/c I didn't have a wood burner at the time. Now I do, now I am interested. Another option that looked interesting to me was a 3 PT logsplitter that works off the PTO. You dont have to worrry about hydraulic flow then. Artman Equipment (yes I know its a Kub dealer) sells them, they are made by some Italian company I think. I am thinking about investigating those also.
