Well, here it is in all its (ugly) glory.

2000 753 Advantage Series

Not the prettiest thing, but it all works good.

[EDIT] WOW - I didn't realize the pics would make it look THAT bad. Stupid camera flash. Its not as bad as it looks in the pics, lol.

Can't wait to log some hours on it this weekend.

In the next couple weeks I guess I'll go through and do all the maintenance stuff that I can.

Here are the issues it has.

  • Right stick can travel forward further than left stick, letting it turn right when sticks are at their max travel
  • Needs some paint, especially on the front of the boom.
  • Right side hydraulic motor whines a little more than the left side... but whatever, it goes straight
  • I should look at getting a new seat at some point.

But, it runs great, everything seems to work, when both sticks are in the same position it goes straight as an arrow, and was definitely NOT a rental machine. Its been kept greased, etc.

On to the pics:

Good for you Dennis, those Bobcats are nice units, and that one will clean up purty for you...treat em' right and you'll get 5000 hours out of her.;)

I've been looking (sorta', kinda') at all the for sale skidsteers in my area, it would sure be nice to have one to help the tractor. I've yet to convince myself that I really (no really) need one.

So I'll be interested to know how she works out for you.:)

Congrats, Dennis. Looks like a good machine. Like to hear how she works out after you get a chance to put some hours on her.

I paid $7200 for it. I know it may seem a bit high to some, but in this area that is a good price compared to what is available.

Hi Dennis the price sounds good. You would be hard pressed to get a unit like you have for that price in this area as well believe me i have been looking.

If you have ever used Craigslist.org before, thats the way to go.

I looked around for a while and didn't have much luck, but then someone suggested that I put a "wanted" ad up. Don't put one in the actual wanted section, I put mine in the Farm & Garden section, titled something like "WTB Skid Steer (Bobcat, New Holland, etc)., and then in the actual description I spelled it "skidsteer". That way I was able to attract as much attention to my wanted ad as possible by using 3 of the most popular spellings that I've found when searching for a skid steer - bobcat, skid steer, and skidsteer.

Anyway, I put those two wanted ads up, and I've probably had over 20 people email me in about 2 weeks with different machines for sale. Some were pieces of crap, others were nice, but too expensive, and some like this, were just about right.

The guy used it for his landscape business, always maintained it mechanically, and was taking on a huge retaining wall project and needed to buy a 9 series Bobcat for the extra lifting capacity, so he was selling this one.
