We've lived here for 24yrs and we have never had any pets, didn't want any, back in Aug. a neighbor caught my wife in a weak moment and she came home with a 3mo. old Border Collie. He's a cute dog so he's still around. He almost never barks, but today he was really into it and after the wife yelled at him, he went right back to barking. I thought maybe he had spotted the big cow snake that hangs around here so went to look. He was at the bottom of the steps off the deck and when I went to look, there was a dead mole all roughed up and dead. I love that dog, he's a keeper.:thumbsup: Now if his little buddy, the kitten will start bringing in dead ground squirrels, I'll be a rich man....

Pets add something special to life..by the sounds your pup was showing I am on the job.

Get the Border Collie hand book and teach him the commands in the book and then you will really love him!!!

The best dog I ever owned was a Border Collie ... amazingly smart. Once they learn the commands of Down, Stay, Heal, Come By, Way To me ... absolutly amazing the capabilities of these dogs.

I helped round up cattle in the Bighorn mountains once was like a vacation for me, except for all the pain the first three days after not being used to riding horse in a while. They had border collies and one especially, his name was Clyde, was worth his weight in gold the way he took commands and got the cattle out of some pretty tight spaces that you really wouldn't ride a horse into.

I remember a part border collie we had when I was a kid, she would bring the cows to the barn, one morning we called her to get the cows. She came from under the house and went to the woods in the back of the field to get the cows, while she was gone my brother heard something under the house, he crawled under and found three pups. The dog put the cows in the barn and went back under the house and had three more pups.

One of my two cats is now killing small critters around the house. Mostly birds, but yesterday it had a mouse. Seeing that dead mouse made me like that cat ten times more then I did before, and way more then the other cat, who hasn't killed anything.

I haven't had any luck with dogs yet, but used to consider myself a dog guy and was anti cats. I've sort of reversed my thinking on that.

Now I'm trying out a pig for a pet. Seems to be a lot like a dog, but more entertaining to watch.

Eddie, are you fallin' head over heels for the pig?
You need to be careful, they are pretty smart. Dave
