I've been clearing some overgrown areas of our land the last couple of weekends. This morning I was pushing some trees, limbs, briars, etc. onto my brush fire and had a limb put a pretty nice dent in my grill. Has anyone had this and repaired it? I was also kicking around building a guard...any suggestions/tips would be appreciated.

I also lost my fill cap on my front axle at some point in the day. I guess that I need to go to the dealer to replace...wonder what the price would be for that?

Other than that, it was a great weekend to work outside and get some quality tractor time. Spring has finally arrived in Ohio!:) :)

That rubber plug is about 5 or 6 bucks. I lost mine too.

As far as the dent, you're just like me. You think about the grill guard AFTER the first dent. I have a small dent in mine. Nothing that really bothers me. But I recommend getting the Mahindra grill guard. It bolts right on, and looks like it belongs there.

I opted to get the grill guard with the 3215 I am getting but plan to see if I can attach some steel mesh to it for additional protection.

Still paranoid yet, no dent in grill! LOL:D
I'll have to check the plug, now.
Got some brush pin stripes though!

Bhostasa,
I dented my grill on my 6520 and took it off, made a small dish out in the ground (soft dirt) and lined it with a towel. I laid the grill on it and gently tapped out the dent, then I spray painted it. Now be careful tapping. Use a small board and tap on it with a hammer. Use lite short taps to get the feel for it. Too much of a tap can stretch it and cause it to crack. I specialize in aircraft sheetmetal, so I have done this a few times over the years.;)
I also have the grill guard and added some braces in between the bars and welded on expanded steel. Do a search for modified grill guard here and you should find my thread with photos
hugs, Brandi

I'm puzzled....an a 2015 the FEL has a support bracket on the front compared to the 1815/2415. Where / how are you adding a grill guard with the FEL support bracket covering the front of the grill? It seems like the FEL is already protecting the grill.

How much is the grill guard? Another add on for the tractor if I make the plunge I guess...and the rim guard....and ..... all these little things add up

I went to the dealer this weekend to find out more about the front end guard. He told me that the guard isn't available for a 2015 that has a front end loader. He also showed me a picture of what the guard looks like and it's not really what I had in mind.

The picture he showed me has a large cross bar to protect the hood. I'm looking for more of a metal screen to protect my front end (lights, grill, etc.). I'm leaning towards building it myself and painting it up.

Your dealer is wrong. That was the case to begin with, but it is no longer true. There is one now that fits with the loader. You DO need the current front mount for it to bolt to, but it does exist.

Wheeeuuu, for a minute there, I thought I had one of those grill guards that don't exist!!!

But seriously, I got my tractor about 18 months ago, and was never aware that grill guards weren't available. If you're gonna make your own, I'd start with the Mahindra guard, and weld some mesh to that.
