I have had my Mahindra 4110 for 2 weeks now, and I am somewhat dissapointed in a few things. One thing that I have learned the HARD way. Check out the exact tractor that you will get BEFORE taking delivery. Check it out thoroughly. I did not, and now I am paying for it. I test drove a 4110 a few weeks before buying. When I went to actually buy it, it was raining like crazy that day. Didn't get a chance to thoroughly look it over. After I got it home, I discovered the side plastic fenders were bolted on too tight and were cracked on each side in 2 places (in the same location on each side in fact.)
The dealer gave me 2 new ones, but putting them on is a real bear. There are about 16 bolts that have to come out on each side, plus removing the light assembly to remove and re-install the fenders. Took me about 5 hours to do it.
Other items:
1.) The seat is RIPPED! About a 2" rip on the left side. Never noticed it since you always mount the tractor from the right side.

2.)The rollbar (painted black) the black paint is coming off.

3.) A rubber plug on the deck by the PTO speed changer is missing.

I am not sure what the dealer is going to say when I call him Monday and tell him about these other 3 things. I hope I do not get the run-around. I have put maybe 3 hours of running time so far. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Ken, You don't have tractor problems, you have dealer problems. I would look the tractor over real good and make a list. Have dealer pick it up and make it right or repalce while it is new. The dealer makes all the difference. I recently bought Mahindra 350DI. I did look the unit over before I took delivery and bought that exact tractor. When it was delivered (free) it had been thoroughly washed and cleaned, all fluids checked and full of fuel. The seat even had an outer vinyl cover added. Dealer explained all features before delivery.
Good Luck

Yep, you got dealer problems....Like the other poster stated, make a list, check it twice, have the guy pick up the tractor, TELL you when it will be ready prior to pickup (if he has to order parts, make sure he has them prior to pickup). If he even blinks when you llay our your list send copies of these email and your list to MahindraUSA. and advise them that your dealer is giving them a bad name for an otherwise fabulous product. My dealer is somewhat "forgetfull" but I do remember his phone number.....and use it. BobG in VA.

HHmmmmmm...........interesting. Not really sure why you took the fenders myself. You should have let the dealer do the work for warranty reasons down the road. It's new so like the other guys said let your dealer handle it. If he won't then contact Mahindra directly about your problems.

Thanks for some of the input. To add/follow-up on a few points; My 4110 is not at my home, but at our farm/weekend home. It is out in the "boonies". That is the reason why it took me 2 weeks to see these problems. I got it on a weekend (they delivered). It rained that weekend. The next weekend it rained continuously, so we did not go to the farm. The next weekend (this weekend), we went to the farm, and that is when I started looking closer at the tractor. My dealer is about 2 hours from our farm. He didn't want to pick it up, and I did not want to trailer all the way to him for the fender issue alone. I thought it would be easy enough to change it out on my own. (So did the dealer... of course it makes it convenient for him too.) Anyway, the fenders are not impossible to remove and replace, but it is not a 2 beer job either. Monday, I am going to see what the dealer says. Maybe the roll bar paint issue is normal? Is the seat easy to remove myself if the dealer will not pick up the tractor? The little rubber plug I know will be a snap to replace. Basically I guess what I need to know is, Is it reasonable and customary for the dealer to pick up the tractor during warranty issues such as this???

I have to agree with everyone else. You needed to have a discussion with your dealer before you purchased, on how he would handle warranty issues. I live in Southeastern CT and we have lots of rock. I have 90 hours on my 4110 w/509 hoe and dug a 600 foot driveway and spread 45 tri-axles of gravel with this machine. Yeh, it is not an excavator and it is slower than I would like, but it is extremely tough and I have not had any regrets. The hoe can dig out rocks that the FEL can't even lift. It is amazing how some people are quick to bad-mouth Mahindra, run your machine for awhile and let us know what you think then. Problems happen, my new Ford Ranger has way more problems than my tractor. By the way, I did have a problem early on with the control valve for the FEL sticking. My dealer sent me the new parts, but I have not had the problem again.

KENB,
Welcome to TBN.
Not to sound bad toward you or anything, but these are minor things. Some paint on the ROPS and the plug should be the easiest. The dealer should also take care of the seat. Just give them a chance. Good Luck and have fun.

Just curious, why do you mount your tractor from the right side? My Bota has it's one and only step on the LEFT side. Besides it would be awkward for me to get on from the right.

Ever see a cowboy mount his horse from the right side? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry. Goofy me, I was looking at the photo of the tractor that shows the rip in the seat while typing this message. Looking at the tractor from the front, the rip is on the left, you mount on the right. From the sitting position, the rip is on the right, (so is the hyd lever) and you of course mount from the left. Sorry for the confusion. Forgot to have everything technically correct here, the point is the rip in the seat, broken side fenders, and paint peeling anyway.

The rip in the seat is no big deal. Mine got a rip after 20 hours of use, ( the stitching at a seam let go) and the dealer replaced it, no questions asked. I can't answer for the paint problem or your fenders, but in any case, your dealer should fix these, and be no problems..
