It has taken me a week to get up enough nerve to tell you guys this...
I was working on breaking down my last pile of trees (see pictures) that the excavators made when I had some land cleared. I am using a chain to pull apart the pile and burning a small pile about every week.
One pull with the chain loosened and dropped some stumps. I figured I could grab them with the thumb and set them clear of the pile. I grabbed one and lifted it as high as the backhoe would allow when my brain disengaged...I swung the boom full left WITHOUT the outriggers down!!!Two things happened very quickly. First the tractor tipped almost all the way over. Second, I $h!* my pants!!
ROPS was up, seatbelt was not on. That kinda helped because I quickley jumped off and got out of the way. I looked back and there was Baby Bota on his side, (about 70 degrees). The tractor was still running so I hurried and used the backhoe to push the tractor back over after releasing the thumb.
the noise it made coming back over made my wife check on what the heck made the noise. All she and my daughter saw was me standing next to an upright tractor with a stump next to it.
Someone said when it goes over, it happens quick. How true that is!
