BX1500/MMM60"/50" SnowBlower
So we just bought 5 acres (used to be on a 60'x120' lot) and so I got a BX1500 w/60" MMM & 50" snow blower.
This thing runs great, cuts great, although I'm getting older and the 60" MMM is a bit heavy to maneuver out from
Under the bx1500. Further, I'm reading in this forum that the bx1500 can't handle my RCK60B-22BX.
Is that correct? Should I swap this for smaller deck?

Thanks in advance and LOVE this forum.

Well I think your experience shows that it can handle the deck so I wouldn't worry about it. A smaller deck will weigh a bit less but not really enough to make it worth swapping.

I have the 54" deck on my BX22, an early BX model. To my knowledge, these BX tractors can handle either one...it's more a question of what size better suits your needs. I opted for the 54" deck because I have trees and tight corners to navigate. As rbarker stated, the weight difference is not significant.

The BX1500 has a smaller frame than the 1800 & 2200. It wasn't offered with the 60" deck. I'm surprised it would even fit under the tractor.

If what you have is cutting to suit you, it will work. One of my earlier and best tractor mowers was a......BX1500 now living in West Virginia where the hills are even steeper than in Ky. It was close to the ground and very stable.
I don't think the weight of the deck is the big determining factor concerning the size deck for each different model but the expected performance of the factory equipped tractor. You can't get 72" deck of certain configurations on some high HP Zs because they bigger decks will not meet Kubotas performance standards in the acceptable extreme ends of grass height. So, the BX1500 would be limited from Kubota in the size deck due to limitations of the 15hp performance under extreme "normal" uses. But again, if it's working for your current performance needs/expectations then it will work. Don't expect it to go fast in deeper grass though and don't expect it to go thru 3' to 4' grass even though it may do it.
