That's a fine looking machine!
Might want to consider posting in "trailers & transportation" to get some more viewers!

Very nice, like the colors. Havent seen one with chrome on the mirrors.
What options did you get and what trim level?
I hope you enjoy your truck.

I really like the F-250 Super Duty and been looking for a used extended cab diesel myself for about a month...I can't bring myself to give new price...OUCH. Beautiful truck, TBW, best looking one I've seen! I'd like to hear if you have any planned performance upgrades in mind? I have had a few coworkers report some impressive MPG and HP/torque increases with pretty simple mods like chips, exhaust and intake mods. They're beasts in stock form but just the bang for the buck from a chip as far as MPG increase is pretty attractive on a lot of diesels. I recently read a short article that claimed they got 29 MPG on a mixed driving loop from the stock 2011 F-250 w/the new 6.7L which is awesome.... it may be hard to improve on that but I'd sure like to hear ya on here bragging about 35MPG from this beast! I know some people are rolling their eyes but Ford is making some BIG claims about this engine and the little I've read about it sounds like their not just blowing (black) smoke.

I read a review of the truck in Progressive Farmer months back the said they got MPG in the mid to high 20s which is unreal. :D

I just searched some reviews on the truck and the reviewers and Ford are claiming MPG in the 22-26ish range.

My F350 with 7.3 get 21.5ish MPG this time of year doing the 55 mph rural driving I do which is just awesome mileage. I figured my F350 would be the last diesel truck I would own since the costs have gone up such much while MPG has gotten worse over the last few generations of Ford diesels.

I won't be selling my F350 hopefully for at least 10 more years. At least there is now some hope they are making diesel engines that are getting decent MPG. And in this case it sees like awesome MPG. So there is hope I will get a diesel in 2020 or there abouts.

But no more manual tranny. All Ford has is automagics.

Dan

It is the Lariat model. Pretty much all the bells and whistles. Snow plow package, block heater, heated and cooled leather seats, tow package. Basically everything except navigation. I originally went in looking for 2010 F-250 XLT diesel because Ford was offering pretty good incentives. They were able to find what I wanted but this truck caught my eye as soon as I pulled into the dealer. Long story short, it made it to my driveway.

Yes, Ford is claiming very good mileage for this diesel. I doubt I will get 29 mpg but I'm expecting 17-23 mpg, which is very good for a truck this size. I may do some future mods at minimum a chip. I'll check with warranty rules. I got an extended warranty which covers everything including electrical and don't want to throw that down the tube. This truck has A LOT of computer controls so I figured better safe than sorry. Plus the turbos alone are expensive.

Nice looking ride.

I've been shopping for a diesel crewcab in the 06/07 vintage. Stayed right away from the new stuff, I'm not to be trusted.

Congrats.

So many claims about incredible fuel mileage with these new diesels from all the manufacturers but a Real World Test proved they are still all within 1mpg of each other and not much improved over last years diesel's even with Diesel Exhaust Fluid. This is unfortunate because I would much rather have a 400hp/600lb.ft. diesel getting 25+mpg than a 500hp/750lb.ft monster that can't get 18mpg on the highway.

Congrats on the new truck, let us know how it works for you.

I did not see in the article how fast they drove, if it was highway, rural roads, stop and go traffic, etc. Interesting comparison of the trucks but it would be nice to know how they drove the trucks.

Agree 100% on getting better MPG vs more HP/Torque.
