2005 Branson 4720, 8620 Backhoe
Well, some may remember me purchasing a used 2005 Branson 4720, with the 8620 backhoe. Upon delivery I had some issues with what I was told from the dealer, etc. This was back in April. I fixed a bit of odds and ends, especially with the hoe, put new tires on it, etc. Been going through DavesTractor for small Branson items, and John Deere for the hoe parts.

In May, I bought my property finally. 9 acres, with an old tiny house (will be rehabbed), where I am starting fresh with all utilities, a 50x60x16 shop, and a main house a couple years down the road. I have a thread going about the property in the RURAL LIVING section, which I need to update as well. Been busy.

Anyways, thought I would update you on my tractor, how its been, and what I've been doing with it. Id like to start off by saying that it was one of the best purchases I have ever made. The property that I purchased hasn't been lived on in over 20 years, and I am basically starting fresh. Without the tractor, I would be dead in the water or paying someone else. After correcting the issues I had, the tractor has been absolutely fantastic. I am far more surprised on what it can do, and almost never disappointed.

From building the new driveway, ripping out my girlfriends backyard to build her a retaining wall, unloading and moving heavy items with the forks, discing and raking weeds, post hole digging, trenching utilities, etc etc etc. The list goes on and on. Tractor has been awesome. Just thought I would share my positive Branson experience. Great tractor. Here are just a couple quick pics of some projects.

Very cool. Congratulations on the land and on the tractor being a good purchase for you.

We bought our land about 16 months ago... similar in size to yours. We bought our tractor this spring from Dave's Tractors where you've bought your tractor parts.

In your pics I noticed a Berg Electric van. I recently worked for a year on a job in San Jose where Berg Electric was the primary electrical contractor.

Anyways, great update and good luck to you.

Great report. I wish I went with a 20 series vs. the 00 series the first time around, even with 2 acres. There are always other bigger jobs offsite to do, and the extra loader capacity and HP never hurts. I like the new larger meats on there too.

2005-2016 going into 2017. Maybe it's time to add a pony to your corral and get that upgrade you were talking about. Man can't have too many helpers especially when you go it alone like I do.

I had almost settled on a 35HP range tractor, but I am glad I got the 47HP. One thing that seems really nice that I am jealous of the newer ones for are the cabs. I don't really need one, but it would be nice. But then again, there would be plenty of times when I would wish it weren't on as well, such as going through thick brush or trees. Newer style backhoes looks a lot nicer too, however this Ameriquip hoe is pretty strong.

I was had my doubts if a cab was really worth it, but I said "what the heck" and got a tractor with one anyway. Boy I am glad I did. it is great in the heat of the summer, the cold of the winter, and in the rain. Can't think of any time it isn't better. Just makes life more comfy.
