Coming up on first hyd oil change, and the question is,,,,what brand oil to use. Did a trip to Agri Supply today for some mower blades and looked at Warren Hyd Oil. Is this a good brand to use? Or should I be using something else?
This has been discussed many times here and you will get many different answers. My recommendation is to use the same brand oil (Kubota) you have in there now. Your dealer may have put in either SUDT or UDT, normally depends on the climate where you live. IMO, your tractor costs too much to take a chance on different brands.
Ford 4000; Ford 2000(both 3cyl.);JD40; 2004 Kubota L4300; 2006 Kubota B7610; new 2007 Kubota MX5000
I stuck with Kubota when I changed mine out in March. Several months prior I used the coupon the dealer gave me (10% off) when I bought the MX5000. Bought plenty of oil and filters with it so should be good for a year or two. Was happy to see that the same filters fit my L4300. Wasn't nearly as cheap as TSC oil, but the coupon did help take the sting out of it.
At the time SUDT was out of sight, so I bought UDT. Haven't noticed any difference. I did notice that the hydraulic oil I drained from the MX seemed a lot more discolored or dirty than the hyd. oil I drained from my other Kubotas when I did the 50 hr. Don't know why that was as there haven't been any issues. Was glad to get it out of there, though.
It might be just a HP thing, but I really like the MX5000; it's quite a worker.
