Also has the nicer adjustable links on the rear and until you use them you can't see the value but it is there! Saves a lot of work hooking up implements. The turbo will give you that extra HP when needed so to me that was worth the little bit extra money (helps offset the loss due to HST in my case)
I find it to be a great machine and really like mine. Glad I bought it

The MX5100 makes a few more horsepower. I chose the MX5100 for that reason otherwise there is very little difference besides a little bit of money. The hp difference at the PTO was important to me. MX4700 makes about 39 PTO hp the MX 5100 makes about 44 hp at the PTO both ratings are on gear models. HST scavenges two or three hp at the PTO. Seems like the price difference on the two was around $1,000.

Looks like Code54 and I are on the same page. On the lot mine did not have the adjustable links, the dealer swapped them off the MX4700 to my tractor at a small charge. Seems like it was less that $200,
The MX5100 with the turbo is definitely cool, but its little brother also has ample power. Our L4610 is virtually the same size and power as the MX4700... in more than 10 years of use we've never encountered a situation where power was lacking. It drives a post hole digger, 6 ft tiller and a logging winch at just above idle speed, will run a 6 ft. cutter through anything at 3/4 throttle, and easily runs in road gear with a 2000+ lb backhoe and 1500 lb FEL mounted. We recently pulled out a 21,000 lb tandem dump truck that had become embedded after sitting for 6 years. No sweat.
Perhaps my view is limited by experience, but it's kind of hard for me to envision what you might do with this size tractor where more horsepower was essential to its everyday use. Maybe if you needed a bigger mower or hay equipment, but what else?
i would go with the MX5100 for a few reasons.1 it has the adjustable 3pt links.2 you can lift 5 by 6 bales on the rear an frontend loader.ive had my mx5100 for 3yrs an i wouldnt trade it for anything.
