Mulching Kit for GC 1725 60 Inch Mowing Deck?

Anyone know where I can find a mulching kit for a MF 60 inch mowing deck? I just bought my tractor this summer and while it is awesome, I have problems with getting rows of cut grass as it is discharged from the shoot.

I've been breaking my back working on my yard and now that I've got it looking good, it's frustrating to have to look at those rows of dead grass when I mow.

I have about 3/4ths of an acre that I mow too, so going back and raking is not an option. And one of the big selling points for getting the tractor in the first place (at least when I did) was to shorten my mowing time. I really don't want to have to mow over it twice in order to spread out the grass because then that defeats the entire benefit of the bigger mowing deck.

I've been looking around and can't seem to find anything. Any advice/suggestions are appreciated!

Sounds to me like you do not have your discharge chute adjusted to your needs. On your discharge chute there are 2 rubber bump stops that rest on and touch your mower deck, behind those rubber bump stops should be several thick steel washers. Use those washers to adjust the height/angle of your discharge chute by moving them to just behind and in between the discharge chute and the rubber bump stops. This will raise your discharge chute angle so the grass clippings spread evenly across your yard without leaving any wind rows to deal with and you still have the discharge chute on for a safety device. I did this to mine and it works great and awesome moving the downed leaves back into the woods.

Many of us with the 60-inch MF side discharge mowers just totally removed the guard - it allows for better dispersal and less windrowing of the clippings. It's not as simple as just hooking up a bungee because the guard won't lift to 90 degrees.

If you remove it make sure your idiot neighbors kids and grandkids don’t have a habit of hitting golf balls into your yard... those babies are hauling when they exit and if they hit anything alive it won’t be for long..

Other than that I agree remove it better than the insane design MF has for this chute.

Also don’t believe the deck is properly baffled for mulching blades.

In addition to being in the "remove it" club, I also purchased an Agri-fab sweeper. You can offset it to the side and it reaches the windrow pretty good.

The MF deck isn't baffled for mulching. There is (was?) a mulching specific deck available for the GC's when i bought mine in 2015. Beyond that, there are no known mulching conversion kits available that I've ever seen/come across.

I'm hoping to find some gator blades that will fit. These helped quite a bit on my last mower. But I did not think about it before I put it away for the winter and It's too heavy to drag out just to measure the blades. Need length, width and hole size.

I will not take the deflector off of mine. I once put a rock through my sliding glass door. It was an expensive lesson on why that guard is there.

if you do find a set of gator or oregon serrated blades that work please let us know. I just got my setup in october so only got one mowing on it and did not measure before I tarped and stored for winter.

make a plate that blocks the outlet. keeps all the cuttings trapped in the blades. other than the blades themselves probably not much different than a mulching kit. have you looked at the kit offered? if so...pics
