I have a seven acre property in Southeastern Virginia. Ive cleared two acres myself for yard and a pond with my full size TLB. Id like to have two to three more acres cleared for a horse pasture. My backhoe does the job, but grubbing leaves one heck of a mess, as well as crater sized holes from the where the rootballs were, plus the problem of having to get rid of the logs and rootballs. Mulching sounds like the best option for removing the brush, small to medium sized trees, and smoothing the ground. The land is pretty flat, and I want to leave the large (18 diameter and bigger) trees alone. I would describe the woods as medium density.
Do any of you mulchers have any suggestions of companies in Virginia that could handle this, and any ideas as to what id be looking at for costs?
