Bought a Kubota SVL 95-S2 with High Flow and several attachments. Next....purchase a mulching head.

I rented a CAT HM315 that had Carbide Teeth and to be honest was not impressed with it. I would like to purchase a new head but will most likely end up buying used.

There are a lot of places where I live that have rocks in the soil, so carbide teeth are on the menu for finishing at grade, but I want to get some planer teeth for making short work of clearing and the bulk of Mulching.

Any recommendations??

Not from personal experience, but congrats on your new machine and where's the pics:confused3:
Reggie did you decide not to proceed with that big pipeline mowing bid?

I decided to hold off on that bid. It is just to big for a first project. Still putting the plan and pieces in place to "go for it". I have had the skid for a few months and done some small work and since I have had good results getting info here thought I might as well ask about a mulching head. Always been in the plan to get one.

Speaking from the POV of the guy who never returns your calls, has no idea what he is talking about, and tries to fleece you for all your worth aka Equipment Salesman for a stocking dealer of the Bradco Magnum, Loftness, and Fecon.

I do not like the combo of a ctl/mulch head unless it's on your dime and time with plenty of both. All heads will require you to operate the machine at the very top end of what it's capable of from start to finish. I don't care what anyone says or how much experience they have...you need an external hydraulic cooler and you have to work the rig in intervals of down time and keep the machine blown free of debris continually through out the day. I have seen enough total loss burn jobs that I simply difer all inquiries I receive to colleagues. If your clearing lots for a builder they work fine but most bite off more than they can chew. If your serious and you must have one definitely go overkill and go new and get your warranty, never seen a used head worth it's asking price. It might not be in your price range but if you are serious about it the best advice I can give is save your pennies and go purpose built tractor i.e. HydroAx, Barko, etc.....I'll hang up and listen
