Anyone of you Texans or neighbors have dealings with Mueller buildings?

I think I got the name from threads here.

Their prices look in line.

They said they made thier own stuff such as beams etc. so that if there were problems, I could go back direct to them, and they would be the ones to handle it.

Has anyone seen thier operations? From their website they look to have a number of sites. My building would come out of Tulsa OK.

Looking at their 40 X 60 X 16. Any thoughts or comments?

Anyone have yea or nay opinions?

Thanks

Mueller has a shop here. Their main campus is in Ballinger, TX, just north of San Angelo. They make a good product. I'd buy one. They will stand behind their buildings.

I've never bought one of there buildings, but I've done a few roofs using there stuff. I buy from the Kilgore shop, which is half an hour from my place.

They have been very good to work with. My first metal roof was from a different company, and it wasn't nearly as pleasant of an experience. Mueller has it all and they will work with you.

I bought a roll up door from them that I figured would be a nice color. My wife couldn't belive that I chose that color and told me that I needed to return it and get the correct color. Mueller took it back and gave me the new color without any re-stocking fees. I really expected that, but what suprised me and made me a customer for life, is they refunded me $200 because they were able to make the doors cheaper now then when I first paid for it!!!!!!!

One thing to remember when pricing and comparing metal buildings is that allot of companies don't actually make there own buildings. They just sell the kits and order the building from the manufacturer. I prefer to buy a company that actually makes what they sell.

If they're the same folks as Mueller Metal Roofing, we got a bid on the materials from them but they couldn't suggest anyone in our area to install it. Their yard was about 30 miles from us.

I've sure thought I'd like to have one of their metal roofs on my house, but I certainly would not want to install it myself, and I haven't even the foggiest notion of what it would cost.

That in a nutshell is what I am looking for, and firsthand experience like yours of working through problems.

My Dad thought he was buying from the Manufacturer, then when the truck carrying it rolled and damaged it, he learned that he was buying through a distributor. It added a big level of complication at that point that I would rather avoid if possible.

I know millions of these things get built without complications, but I will probably only build one or two, and want to get it right. And when the inevitable problem crops up, I want to be able to speak directly with the folks that will resolve it.

I also found this place in TN.

Liberty Building Systems - Manufacturers of Steel Buildings

They are probably 3 hours from me, which I have to think would help with cost of transport. I could also go down there and look someone in the eye if it comes too it.

I found a "manufacturer" in Nashville,, then realized they were going to charge me shipping from Arkansas....

Might have to visit a Mueller place and this liberty place and poke around some.

Probably a year out or so anyway though.

There is one on hwy 30, I stopped in and checked the prices.
They seem to have a good operation. A few miles away is Metal Mart, not so fancy and really just a couple of guys and a warehouse. Their prices are way lower at Metal Mart, less overhead I guess.

We recently had a carport built and used Mueller CP "Standing Seam" metal roofing. Cut length and delivered to Bryan from Conroe was $1500 for a 22' x 28' carport plus an 8' covered walkway. The crew I had working had no problems installing with my supervision .

We have started a 12' x 24' addition to the house and will reframe the roof and use the same material.

I had bought my shop building from someone else but bought my roll up doors and other trim from Mueller.

They have given me good value and service.

I have a Metal Mart less than 10 miles from me but I will not go there. I would rather deal with Mueller at 90 miles away.

Mueller posts the material prices per square on their web site.
