Thinking about 26" mudlites on my worksite RTV. I noticed that the recreational model has wider tires on the rear (25x11x12). Has anyone tried 26x12x12's on the rear of their RTV? Thanks

flyingn- thanks, I looked at the pics and thought sure I read 26x10x12 on the side of the rears- no photo ed software at home so I'm sure I misread it.

How tall do your Mudlite tires actually measure when on the RTV? My stock tires on the worksite model only measure 24" tall, even though they clearly say 25X10X12 on them for their size. I am considering a set of Maxxis Bighorn Radials that I'm told measure 26 1/2" tall even though they are 25X10X12's. The Bighorn Radials are not as agressive as the Mudlites, but are considerably more agressive than the stock tires. I just don't want to order a set of new chrome wheels and tires and get them just to find that they don't fit.

my mudlites ARE 26x10x12.. my mistake. They measure almost 27' tall at full pressure.. 25 lbs..

I'm ordering my set of tires/rims from Todd in the coming week. Just haven't nailed down which tire to put on.

Can anyone tell me how close the Mud Lite tread is to the 589's?
Dargo - What made you choose the Maxxis? I might lean towards these because they won't totally destroy the yard as opposed to something like the 589's.
Flyingn - Any reason you went with the 26x10x12 instead of 25x10x12? Please refresh me. How were the Mud Lites on hard surfaces?
Thanks
Brian

I am wanting to run the new wheels and tires I buy pretty well all the time. The Mudlites and 589's undoubtedly will provide more traction in mud, but I am looking for a compromise that has traction but yet won't kill my yard. I have a buddy who has the 589's on his ATV. He loves them, but he said that he cannot turn in his yard without leaving marks, and if his yard is soft at all, he says he cleats it up. I'm just assuming that the Mudlites would be similar due to their aggressive lug pattern.
I haven't quite decided yet, and have been staring at dozens of ATV tires. I'm still leaning towards the Maxxis radials to use for an all around tire. The only thing I've ever heard bad about them was that about a year ago they had some that were out of balance at speeds over 40 mph. Apparently that has been fixed, and I seriously doubt that I'll ever get my RTV that fast unless it is on a trailer. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

reason was that that all Ronnies had in stock at the time.. They are squirrly on asphalt. Don't recommend em on any paved surface..

Just back from a trip to break in the RTV- one spot I went got over 6" of rain friday/saturday. I put 26x12x12 mudlites on the rear and 26x10x12 on the front prior to leaving. Put about 6.5 hours on the machine in some really nasty stuff ranging from steep hills to deep mud- nary a hiccup. The 26x12x12 fit nicely on the rear. You would not want to drive these rascals on pavement, however. I have mine inflated to 18 rear and 20 front. I may increase this. Nice increase in ground clearance over the stock HDWS without a lift kit.

Got my tires/rims today (attached).
Does anyone have these Maxxis (or similar) that you're running year around? Tread is definitely more aggressive than the OEM (worksite model) tires but not as much as 589's or mud lites. Tread is 3/4"
Before I took off the OEM tires/rims, I was hoping someone could tell me if these Maxxis may eat up the lawn. (If not, I guess I'll be the Guinea Pig /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif )
