Was chipping some alders the other day & got a jam. Was a bit surprised as the alders were green so normally go through it like butter. Anyhow, after I cleared the jam, which didn't seem too bad as the piece I was chipping wasn't stuck, the flywheel on the Briggs & Stratton engine wasn't connected to anything. Engine won't start & the chipper blades, etc, don't move. Took the pull cord off but can't see anything - major disassembly required I think.
I am hoping that there is a shear bolt somewhere in the machine but the manual/parts list doesn't show one. Will call MTD on Monday but was wondering is anyone else has had this problem? Not sure if they will cover it under warranty?
Currently have the chutes off & sharpened the blades - a bit dull with some wood stuck to them/jammed in the slots.
