Can an MTD 190-627 snowblower be modified with relative ease to fit on a 1000 series cub cadet? I have a LT1045 20HP Cub Cadet mower and see someone liquidating cheap some unused 190-627 snow throwers on ebay. They seem to be similar to the 190-032 and 190-823 snowblowers I see with a different attachment bracket.

(Which brings me to a side question, the 190-823 has been deprecated in favor of the 190-032 model. Does that mean that if I find a used 190-823 blower I can use it on my new LT1045?)

Unlike the earlier topic here about using one of these blowers with a 2000 series Cub, it is my understanding that Cubs like the 1000's with vertical shaft engines are the ones those blowers are easy to modify to fit and work with some simple drilling and bolting of the attaching bracket. But neither myself or the people selling them will say that they will work with a specific model of tractor for sure, so that risk is there and then it depends on your own skills to modify it to work. A little gamble, but it seems like they can be modified for basically any vertical shaft engine lawn tractor. Then of course you'll need weights and chains or else the tractor won't be able to get out of its own way when pushing the blower on slick ground.

ioldanach, did you ever find out for sure if the 190-627 or 190-823 snow throwers would fit on your LT1045? I've got the same tractor, and I saw the same snow throwers on ebay.
I'd be willing to take this gamble, but only if I knew how the snow throwers attached to the tractor. I can't visualize how they bolt up... Do they use the same bar that the front of the cutting deck hooks on, plus a few holes in the tractor frame?
Does anyone know where I can find a good picture that shows the mount points where a snow thrower attachment mates to the tractor? I'm fairly handy, so I think I could handle a few simple modifications.
Thanks in advance.

I am not sure of the 190-627, but I have successfully modified a 190-823 to fit an LT1046. To get started I pulled the parts diagram for the 190-032 and compared the two. The only thing I had to do was add the tensioner arm, idler wheel and spring that is missing on the top of the 190-032 attachment bracket. The 190-823 I had was off of a Cub 1170 and I think it must have the tensioner on the tractor. Otherwise the rest of the blower was an exact match. I could supply the belt numbers I used for it also if you need them.
