LS MT357HC
Dealer told me the width on my tractor with Industrial R4s is about 72" but after looking up the specs and reading on here I suspect it is 66" wide.

My Branson 4020 open frame tractor that I just sold has R4s with the rear rims at the widest setting right at 73". Tires are filled.

My new tractor will have the rear tires filled with Rimguard. I'm told it will add about 1,100 lbs of weight.

Should I be worried about losing 6" of rear width on my new tractor? I'm concerned my new cab tractor might be more prone to tip when operated at angles that my Branson handled just fine.

Thanks.

I measured the Branson again with my wife's help and I'm 69.5" lug to lug or 71.5" sidewall to to sidewall. Not sure of the proper way to measure. I'm probably worried about nothing.

According to the LS website, my tractor is 62" wide (Overall width with tires, (in.): 62.5)
I also have the tires filled with rimguard, adds just about 1100lbs of ballast. It does feel 'tippy' while side hilling, but so far, I have kept the rubber side down. (I need some wood to knock on!)

But seriously, I probably panic long before it would start to tip over. I just posted a video of a hill side that I mow on a regular basis, a short but steep hillside. I do side hill it a bit, but I prefer to cross the contour lines perpendicularly.

I am not sure how much more stable it would feel with wheel spacers. And I am not sure about how well the oil seals and bearings would hold up with them either.

And I just realized you SOLD YOUR BRANSON!?!

what route did you go?

I'd wait until tomorrow and measure.

I'd also compare height of COG. If the new is lower, you may not need as much width. If higher, you may need more, or figure a different way to operate on slopes.

From what I have read the 62.5" width is with the AG tires. The R4s make it about 66" but I'll know for sure tomorrow.

Sold the Branson to a very nice Rancher for $10,500. He beat me up on the condition of the tires. They are pretty chewed up from the previous owner so I couldn't complain to much. I pulled the trigger on an MT357HC from Yellowstone Tractor. Daryl the owner is delivering it tomorrow. Pretty excited.

Definitely but from what I have been told MT357 has very few changes from an XR4155HC. I am hoping it has the hydro auto throttle. My dealer says no but I spoke with another dealer who claims to have actually driven one and says the auto throttle has a switch that can be turned off. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'll start an MT357 thread after I receive it and can answer any questions about new features and changes.

My dealer said it has a larger/upgraded hydro box compared to the XR. The shuttle version is supposedly unchanged.

Congrats on your new tractor!
