Dirt Moving MT240HE NEW TRACTOR THIS WEEK 07/27/20

Anyone know ant thing about the LS MT 40hp tractors? what model it replaced. Will be doing light mowing 2-5 acres mostly clearing brush & moving dirt. it is a hydro with a added front remote for a grapple.

Prior to Spring 2019 the MT240HE went by the name XG3140H.... they're the exact same tractor, although there was a mid-life cycle change in the loader model just to insure good availability. It's a heck of a tractor for the money with 40hp, nearly 2200 lbs of loader lift capacity, and total tractor/loader weight around 4000 lbs. That same engine gets tuned for up to 57hp, so it's loafing in this application.

Thanks john, We picked up our MT240HE today from Alex at your Greenville store they Were all great. the grapple is going to be fun & get a work out at our place...

Any tips or tricks on how to dismount/store the grapple? I was thinking grapple open teeth down. forgot to go over that with the guys when we were there

I don't know anything about grapples but would love to hear your impressions of your new tractor. I know this is a stupid question but is there a cup holder? I always go out with water. I'm sure I can gerry rig something. How is the power in H gear. Is it fast enough to drive on the road if a filling station was say one mile away?

Yes, there is a cup holder!

I used "H" in the back yard briefly, it moved pretty good for a few seconds and I decided "M" was plenty of speed in the yard! I think top speed is about 22MPH, so that should be fast enough for a mile jaunt.

Yes mine came with a cup holder holds bottled water or a large 30oz mug. Top speed in high gear per the owners man is 13..79 mph at 2600 rpm. I only use it to drive to a pasture would not use it to do any work or carry a load. So far I like this tractor. less than 10 hrs. It replaced a JD950 2 WD this one has 4WD we have sandy soil would not go back to 2wd. The grapple is great if you have tree brush ect... It is great to have when mowing I do not have to stop to pick up limbs just grab them & go
