I hit 600 hours, and my hydraulic filters were due, fluid was coming up and I've been wanting to swap the fluid to synthetic for a while, so all that happened today.
Draining it was pretty straight forward. I used an oil extractor through the fill port and pulled out almost 5 gallons. Then loosened the main hydraulic filter and drained off about another gallon. Pulled the bottom 30mm plug and got most of the rest. Pulled the side 30mm plug and maybe a cup came out. Removed the HST filter and half a cup came out, and that was it. I did it in sections like that because I didn't have a catch pan large enough to hold all 8.5 gallons listed and I wasn't sure how much I would get in total. I wound up with right about 7 gallons.

Dealer changed my HST drive unit at about 300hrs, so this is it's 3rd set of filters (50hrs, 300hrs and now 600hrs) and the fluid was changed at 300 with the HST drive unit when they split the tractor.

A little gunk on the plug magnets, not too bad. I can tell the dealership didn't replace the copper crush rings, they still have the factory black paint on them.
I didn't see anything shiny in the used oil. Funny what looked clear on the dipstick is dark in the jugs.

It's sitting there empty right now, buttoned up and with new filters WIX 51551 for the HST and WIX 51715 for the main The sky opened up as I was getting ready to fill, wasn't willing to do that in the rain, thunder and lightning.
Full synthetic TRIAX Agra UTTO Supreme will be going back in. I'll update when done and ran for a bit.

all good, got in some bucket work, grappling and stump grinding.

I just did my 300 hour service recently. I am also going to get a more premium fluid when that time comes. But for now, I topped off with the same stuff my LS dealer sells. Warren Premium.

Let us know if you feel or hear a difference. Even if not, I’m going to buy better quality fluids.

Seems to run a bit smoother, though it was also smooth before.
I used to have a squeal after I started to move right after startup. That is gone since the fluid change.
It used to be really bad, the dealer split the tractor and replaced the HST drive unit, but a little 3 second or so squeal remained. Since the swap to synthetic, that remaining squeal is gone.
