2019 LS MT125
I have a 2019 MT 125 with the Yanmar engine. It has about 30 hours on it. I understand that the hydraulic pump is situated under the seat and positioned about directly underneath your left thigh. Is it normal for there to be a constant humm coming from that area? I'm not talking about normal hydrostat whine that I am used to with other my other hydro equipment. This is a humm that is constant and slightly changes pitch with throttle up or down. I have checked all my fluid levels and they are all perfect. I have not hit my first 50 hour service so the filters are all original. It may be perfectly normal for this tractor but any reassurance/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would call my dealer tomorrow and ask them, and document it. Good insurance!

Probably normal though.

The pump is located on the left side of the transmission directly above the axle, directly above the hydraulic filter. More like under your left butt. I never heard any "humm" from mine, only the hydrostat whine.

Have you noticed any performance issues, creeping, etc? My 125 has had serious hydro pump issues and has spent weeks in the shop

Nope , never any issues with the hydraulics. After about 100 hrs +/-, the pedals wouldn't return fully, but it was a simple adjustment of the tension spring.

I had the pedals not returning after 12 hours. The damper tied pedals had broken a weld and was not returning the pedals to level.

My 125 is a year and a half old now and has 70 hours on it and not a bit of hydraulic or pump issues.

Mine is about 6 months, closing in on 100 hours. I've been listening for this since I saw the thread a while back. I can't hear anything unusual over the engine noise and the usual Hydro whine.

Mine had 176 hours at 2 years, no hydraulic problems whatsoever. Strong as new. Never any weird noises, the hydro whine actually got quieter.

Has the OP even checked back? Wonder if he took it to the dealer to get it checked?

My dealer said he had seen this type issue with mine only once before, about a year and a half earlier. Said he’d probably sold 50 of the 122/125 size TLBs and were otherwise never had an issue. Pretty sure mine was a factory lemon. LS actually did me right and replaced the tractor with a new one. Got a call from corporate office in North Carolina telling me they would make it right.

Here was my MT125 in the dealer’s shop after 13 hours. Not a comforting site. But LS did me right.

Wow, they really tore it apart....did they find the problem? Did you get a new tractor?

Just reread your post. That's good that you got a new tractor. I would like to know what the problem was

Yea, definitely posting a picture of what was left was interesting but we need the story of what happened and what they found. I'm pretty comfortable with the LS Warranty and the bad press is not worth the hassle to their sales to not make it right. But please post the story.

I generally described it before Lisa — Had it for 2 months and 13 hours on it. The gas damper underneath broke it’s bracket, and hydro has a continuous creep. My dealer took it in and tried several things over several weeks to fix it, and found the hydraulic pressures were not right coming out of the main pump. They removed the entire back unit to replace the pump. Multiple setbacks along the way. By this point it had been in the shop for two months. I told them I didn’t want it back after such major problems and wanted a new one. After some discussions with Corporate, they agreed and replaced the unit. I’m disappointed the first tractor had the problem but very happy with how LS came through and took care of it.

Thanks so much "Mustangjames" for posting the detailed story. Interesting series of failures for sure and I'm glad it's not a "typical" problem. It's too bad you lost your tractor for two months but a fresh machine delivered to you is a good fix.

Thanks again for taking your time to explain it.

Best regards,
Lisa
