Well I was doing some work (whats that? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif) and I came up with this. Check the pic out. Grammer check solution, it says solutions. Change it to solutions and it grammer checks it to solution. Uh, I think somebody screwed up a bit, or is it just me. Im gunna have to go see somebody, its messin with my mind.
And how do you spell grammer (grammar) anyway, isnt it one of those US/UK things, like gray/grey and tire/tyre (but doesnt tire mean to become tired, but you cant become tyred (unless you piss off a tyre fitter /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif) /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif)
Ugh, im gunna go beat my head against the wall now, too much thinkin going on here /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Is it possible you have the American version of the software? Or is it possible that you people who speak the King's English use terms differently than those of us who speak American English and as the software originates in the US that there is some language barrier? I know that half of the stuff that Vin writes from Australia has me reading his posts really slow and often scratching my head and I am still trying to understand the origin of a "flick mixer."

Nah, definately UK stuff, my guess is its just a conflict from changing it from US to UK, or its just somebody in the MS software checking dept making conflicts to make me confused, like when youve just about to finish a 3D model on ProDesk, its all fine and youre just about to add the last nut to the last bolt and it says 'product structure conflict' and you click OK and the program closes and you loase about 36 hours of work and have to do it all again /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Sure get you alot of practice. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Mith...I've been using CAD programs for about 20 years now, and I learned a long long time ago that saving very frequently is your good friend. Especialy wit the current crop of solid modelers (SolidWorks 2005 is my current bad habit). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yep you are right, saving is your friend.
It always happens to me when im assembling a product from all the parts, some of my projects get quite big with many parts to them. If you get an error when assembling parts ive found that often youre better off reassembling from scratch as a mistake right at the beginning of the assembly might only rear its ugly head at the end and as its so many steps previously its hard to track it down. its alot less frustrating to rebuild that it is to track down problems with a seemingly perfect model. You almost have to redefine all the constraints before you find one that is in error, youre better off redoing it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The program I use is rubbish, it does the job but its not really got any of its bugs worked out. Its the cheap version of SolidWorks, unless you wanna give me a free copy of SolidWorks it aint likely im gunna be paying for it soon /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif It a tad pricey right?

Its amazing how time consuming it is, but the satisfaction of seeing a product come together onscreen and then becoming a reality is really encouraging. It almost makes up for the hours of cold feet and sitting in a room alone on a nice sunny day /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Vin, honestly I don't think our nations are very similar. Sure we speak the same root language, and we both have a common legacy to trace back to the English crown, but our cultures are radically different in so many ways. I'd say Aussies have a lot more in common with the English and a lot less in common with Americans than we all realize. I've had numerous business dealings with Australians, and used to import product form there to here (became friends with the family that made the products I was importing), my house is designed by a famous Aussie/American architect (Walter Burley Griffin), so I've got a bit of insight into the culture and what I see is there are a lot of differences but on the surface things are similar.

Bob

I have never been to the USA but do talk to Americans from time to time I also have an Auntie in CA and the comments I get from them is that our life style is more laid back, with less hassles.
Comments that I particularly get from Aussies who visit the USA are Americans generally are more ordered in day to day living. e.g. if you are asked to form a queue people just do. Here in aus people are reluctant to follow instructions like this. I also am under the impression that we have in comparison to the USA, many less people that live in poverty. And we don't appear to have the extremes
I have seen so many times American CEO’s and officials that visit here make the same comment time and time again when interviews on TV is how surprised they are by our standard of living and our level of achievement in business, sport, arts, etc, etc. I guess its very true when you look at how many aussies make it in Hollywood. And then with companies like BHP billiton I think they are the worlds biggest mining company.

Visiting Americans often think we have a lack of respect for authority and high achievers.

I do hope to get to the USA within a year or two.
Maybe you should come on down, If you do, don't just do the tourist things.

BTW free to TV content here would be at a guess 50% American 10% British the rest Australian. And it has been this way for probably 20 years so your culture is well and truly alive here.
