Boy, I miss my live pto. I'm having a hard time getting used to using the shifter instead of the clutch. Seems awfully hard on the transmission shifting from forward to neutral to reverse. Hard to get used to. Has anyone got a better technique on using a finish mower and stop and starting, mowing around trees. Don't get me work. I do love my Yanmar.

I mow around my trees first in a very low gear and do figure 8's without backing up. Then I mow the large area in the appropriate gear.

The local dealer suggested using the foot throttle when doing a lot of shifting. Let off the throttle before you power shift then pick it up and go. Roger Scotty says it is a real trip to go from 3 high to reverse. Really "A" ticket./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I mow 4 acres with hundreds of trees. I try to do the whole job wothout shifting at all. Lots of big circles and ovals. It works fine and really doesn't take that long.
