I switched to my ag tires on my BX22 for the first time to do some backhoe work in the mud. Since I probably only have 3-4 mowings left in the year, can I mow w/the ag tires without causing damage? I know I will probably have to go slow but even then do you think they will tear up the grass?
Thanks

My Ford has Ag tires, and I used it since around 1992 without any big problems. That tractor has a RFM and no loader. Keep it out of 4WD unless you need it on a hill. When I got the Kubota, I went with R4's. They work fine too, but I don't mow with the FEL on, and avoid 4WD...............chim

you should be ok, just go slow in turns and try to make wide turns, stay out of 4wd, and stay off it is wet.

I bought the BX22 with the bar tires mounted (bought extra turf tires/wheels also) because we had just bought a place and the grass was grown up enough to need bush hog cutting rather than MMM. I have not taken the time to change the tires and have since mowed with them on. I remove the backhoe, or any 3ph implement, and also remove the loader. I have not had any issues with the tires unless I am careless when turning, etc. My lawn is not my pride and joy, so I might not be as worried as some, but I do not want to tear it up. At this point late in the season, I will probably not use the turf tires til next spring. I will have to mow a few more times, but will use the bar tires.

BE AWARE THAT THE MOWING DECK WILL NEED TO BE LOWERED JUST A LITTLE FROM THE HIGHEST LIFT POSITION IN ORDER TO CLEAR THE BAR TIRES. I just visually check it unless I am not going to be using the deck. In that case, I set it to TOP and lower it to the preset level.

I have r4's on my B7500 and I usually don't have any problems. Just stay in 2wd and keep the turns slow. The only time you should encounter a problem is when the ground is soft.

I am actually considering going the other way with my B7500 - getting a spare set of lawn tires for the front, since I have R4s all the way around right now. Unfurtunately, I have found the R4s to cut into the turf somewhat (even in drought dry ground). To keep all my turns gradual enough for them not to bite would increase increase my mowing time by a good bit. That said, the damage is not so severe that I couldn't live with it at the tail end of the season, but I'd like to do a little better for most of the year.

My dealer has told me to use the same tires on my 7500 for front and back. If you are in 4wd, the transmission could be damaged because the back R4's would "push" faster than the front turfs would "pull". I guess that makes sense.
