What mower do I need to mow a dusty weedy lot with. The area is desert and needs to be mowed of weeds at least once or twice a year. If the cost of hiring it done is too expensive I'll get my own mower. But what would you suggest.

My first question is: What do you currently have? (Or can rent.) I know that I can rent an older 50HP tractor with a 6' bush hog for around $150/day. (delivered)

Before I bought anything, I'd put an add in the paper to see what it would cost to have it done. Maybe stop a guy out mowing or go up to a house that's next to it with a mower or tractor that could do it and see what they will charge. For twice a year, it would be real hard to justify buying something. Especially with having to maintain it, store it and then do the work yourself.
