I asked this in the DIY section too, but I thought I would post here as well.

Does anyone have any ideas for a mower stand for the New Holland 72" mid mount mower. There are no rear casters to work with, and the fronts are recessed behind the anti-scalping roller, so I do not think the axle stands will work. I want to stand it up vertically to store and clean the underside. How do the other NH owners do it?

I lift mine using my loader. I attach to the pins that are normally used to lift the deck when installed on the tractor. I attach to the front two, I made two loops out of wire rope and clamps. Once lifted I lower the deck and drive backward, deck ends up leaning toward tractor with wheels on the ground. This allows me to clean and change the blades without getting uder the deck. Mine sits flat on the ground in the barn for storage. Greg

I would give them a call. I have the axle set for my CMS60. I love it! I can stand the Mower for cleaning, storage in the winter and while I need it off to do some other work.

The idea is so simple, yet sturdy!

I posted to the other thread but here is a photo of my setup. I do the same in lifting the mower with my FEL but rig off the stand to set it up. Safe and secure not having to work under the bucket.

I did contact Larry at MowerAxle.com and gave him the specs for the front scalp wheel spindles, but unfortunately it would take a 15" wheel at the estimated price of $40-$50 per wheel. That would be $300 by the time it's done.

Any other solutions anyone come up with? HUCKthe1's setup in nice if you have the angle iron and welding ability.

You are right. I would never work under a raised bucket. I use that method to clean and change blades. I work on the top side with the deck flat on ground. greg

Scoon86,

I bought my wheels at a Tractor Supply and the steel from a local weld shop. I don't think I had $30 total in material and the small amount of welding should not cost much more. Maybe I should mass produce these things. I could help you out by welding it for for you if you were close. I think the hardest part is drilling the holes.

I bought some basic clamp on forks for my 7308 loader. Once the mower is free from the tractor then I drive up and slide the forks under. One can work on the underside by tipping the bucket up without working under the raised loader.
