New Holland Boomer 24
I keep looking for posts from anyone owning a Boomer 24. Either I'm the only one who owns one, or nobody has any problems with them so they don't post anything.

Anyway, I've had mine since this spring. I got it with just the FEL, no mower deck. I've been been very happy with it - moved a lot of dirt and firewood. I'm looking at getting a mower for it next spring, mainly looking at the 260GMS belly mower. Does anyone have one that can comment on their satisfaction with it? The only other option would seem to be a rear-mount, which I may also consider.

Give a little description of property size and condition. Flat, hilly, like a golf course, trees, brush, over grown? I have three mowers for my NH 4.75 (6 foot Rhino, 6 foot flail and 8 foot finish mower) and use all three for different areas and conditions. Also have areas in a orchard where a zero turn mower works the best.

It's a couple acres. Hill at one end. It's got several buildings and lots of trees to mow around, plus a fence on one side that I don't want to damage.

Hi Bill, so did you settle on a mower. I have a TZ25DA; bought used 6yrs ago... 25" mower deck. I like the little tractor, (FEL, back hoe, 50" mower and back blade) does everything in a small way. I'm shopping for a snowblower. One complaint, reverse, has zero power in HIGH and painfully slow in LOW. The mower deck I don't much use but when I do I like it. Last fall I went with synthetic in the engine, the big filter for the hydrostatic and EXXON's cold weather hydraulic oil; it made a difference in sub -20deg nights moving snow.

CDN24,
Thanks for the feedback. I haven't made the purchase yet, although I'm getting closer as Spring approaches. The only issue I've heard of on these decks is that they don't raise up high enough. Have you noticed any problems with that?

I also noticed a guy down the road from me has a small New Holland. I need to flag him down one of these days and ask him which model he has and how he likes it.

Judging by the responses I'm getting (or lack thereof), I must be one of about 5 people in the world who own Boomer 24. :D

Thanks,
Bill

Also a Boomer 24 owner here. Still have my lawn mower that I used when I just had a half acre to care for. Now I have 18 acres. However most of it is going to be horse pasture so a bush hog is in my near future.

Not sure I will get a belly mower as the smaller lawn mower gets into places better and I need that functionality.

For me the Boomer 24 was obviously the best tractor for the money at that size.

Agreed! For me, the local dealer took Kubota out of contention. That left Deere and New Holland who both have reputable, well-established dealers in the area. But comparing the 24 to a 1023R, I just don't think I'd have been happy with the Deere. I sure am happy with the Boomer.

My deck is 60", my TZ25DA is the same machine as 24. Lifting the deck is no issue; forgetting to lift it now that's something else. As for quality etc ... granted I'm not the expert but my take this mower is commercial grade and a perfect match to my machine. Oh, and my complaint on zero power in reverse Hi, I was suggested a possible easy fix, apparently there's a pedal adjustment under the floor or also sometime a hose or foreign object lodged behind pedal, limiting travel; that may it.
Good luck

No, the TZ25 is not the same machine as a TC24D/DA or a Boomer 24. The TC series is larger than the TZ series. The Boomer 24 lines up with the TC18-24 series when they were made by Shibuara. One thing I don't like on the new LS versions on the MMM, they sure don't raise up very high. I can do most things today by just pinning the MMM up, I don't think that would be possible with the new version.

Good point, Jim. I'll have to make sure I check the full-up height / clearance. Maybe I should be asking over on the LS section, too.
