Just curious if anyone has a similar issue. If I raise the deck all the way up on my Bx2380, it’ll bang against the tractor frame when driving over what I consider minor bumps in the road. No pun intended. If I lower the deck a little, the banging noise still occurs but it’s less loud. I have made a video of what it sounds like. See link below. Anyway - Hopefully you all can hear it and comment. Thanks!

It's been so long since I had my 2009 BX2660, but I don't remember it doing what you describe. However, in 2012 I bought a B2620 ( and still have it). This model bangs on the frame every time I raise it.. (a suspended deck model). I asked the dealer about that and he said that's just the way it is. So I live with it to this day.

Now on my B2650 model, it makes no such bang on frame noise....but it is a ground contract MMM model. All were/are 60 inch MMM.

Maybe your dealer can make an adjustment to correct the issue.

Cheers,
Mike

So that was quick an easy. Found this link on YouTube. I did what he suggested and the deck isn’t bouncing or flopping anymore.
I’m thinking my dealer did not adjust this properly or the it was loose. I think eh w later might have something g to do with it. The lock but was not on very tight.
Here’s that link. Thanks tractor tech!

Ok. So my next question is will the deck scalp my lawn now? Hmmm. I’m thinking I may need to back it off. The deck as it was ( real floppy) has never scalped my lawn which I have been amazed at even in areas where my 42 inch Lx277 would scalp it. Anyway. Prolly need to read the manual. Lol.

I seem to recall that my JD 770 dd that. The mower can't be hard fixed to the tractor but has to float and be able to move. So, you hit a bump and it moves.

Yeah. I tightened it up and the deck still
Moves but you have to use more force than the way it was before. I just re-cut some grass going around a couple swales I have that I scalp with my old mower and it’s still
Ok with the tightened deck. I think I’m ok. It was really bouncy before. Again not sure if the lock nut backed off and it got loose or it was just too loose to start with. I will play around with that adjustment some more over the next few days to see if there is any difference. Thanks

The Deere x7** series tractors are real similar as far as adjusting close to the frame stop. I think being that there are many wear points that will "wear-in" and affect the initial adjustment, adjusting it after break-in is normal. I did the same thing with our x744 and dad's x749 and they have been fine since.

Thanks and interesting. I’ve got a b2650 but no mower deck for it. It’s been a great tractor. I have approx 1100 hours on it and it’s as strong as ever. It also doesn’t make any noise on start up since the motor is bolted directly to the frame with no rubber motor mounts. The BX tractors have motor mounts and it does bang loud on start and stop which annoys me as well. Those bangs and books are more annoying that the the diesel knocking at low rpm.
