been having a hard time to figure out how to resize pictures

Take yr pics with the highest resolution you can...at least 800x600 if yr cam has that. Once you dump the pics to yr computer, you can right click and select properties. If it's less then 150Kb, you can post as is. If it's larger, you have to resize. Go to www.irfanview.com and download their free image software. Open the pic with Irfanview, then go to IMAGE-RESIZE/RESAMPLE and select a lower resolution.
By the way, some digital cams save the pics as .bmp files. Although a .bmp is higher quality, it takes up a lot of space. The same image (a 150Kb .jpg, for example) might be 8 to 10 times larger (getting into the Mb size now, Egon). If it's a .bmp, just open it (using Irfanview) and save as a .jpg

Roy:
I don't have a digital camera. These were photos that had been put on a disc. The originals were way to large to post and with my limited computer [ read non existentant ] skills it took a long time to figure out how to resize.

Thanks for the information.

Thomas:
The " little mule " also moved the rocks beside it up a 15 degree slope.

Big Dave:
The guy taking the picture is kinda small too.

The rocK is slate and will be split into thinner sections for use in the lakeside camping area.
