McDonald's must have screwed up. They suck up to every other minority with a political agenda; did they forget about Seniors? Besides, Wendy's has a salad bar.

McDonalds Corporation has a stock market value of $96.4 Billion. More than General Motors or Ford and 3 times as much as John Deere. That is some valuable garbage.

The fact that lots of folks eat there doesn't dispute the fact that the burgers are tasteless. Micky D makes a tolerable breakfast but the other food is pretty much like eating Styrofoam as far as taste goes. Some of my family claims the French fries are good but I couldn't tell them from any other heavily salted previously frozen product.
If I want a burger (other than homemade) I go to Whataburger if possible or Wendy's if not in Texas. I have heard that Whataburger is branching out from Texas now but so far nothing close to me.

This thread reminded me of news stories about European cafes that turn the typical restaurant business model on its head.

Next time you're in London, you could walk into the Ziferblat cafe in the fashionable Shoreditch neighborhood and grab a coffee. Perhaps you might sit down on one of the comfortable armchairs, pull out your laptop and check your emails on the Wi-Fi network. Feeling a little hungry? There's some food in the cabinet; help yourself.

How much does all this cost? Well, if you spend, say, 45 minutes there, it will cost you ï½£1.35 (approximately $2.20).

You see, Ziferblat might look like a traditional cafe or a coffee shop, but it's not. It's an "anti-cafe." Customers are welcome to come in and do whatever they like with the facilities, as long as they pay 3 pence (5 cents) per minute while they're there.

A new cafe in Wiesbaden, Germany is proving the old adage that time is money. Instead of charging for coffee, Slow Time Cafe is charging for time.

When customers enter the cafe, they are given a wristband with the time, and charged €2.00 (about $2.59), which covers the first half hour. Then, they are charged €0.05 per minute ($0.06), or €3.00 per hour ($3.88). They are allowed to have as much coffee as they want, and can bring in their own food.

Valuation of a company doesn't equate with quality . You are absolutely right it is valuable garbage, but it still garbage.

Quality is an opinion. Valuation is quantitative. One man's garbage is another man's treasure. But, this is America and everyone can choose where to shop. Clearly, many more people choose to shop at McDonalds than any other restaurant. McDonald"s stock has been quite good to me.

Well then, as a part owner of McD's you should send those folks a personal apology.

I hate to use quality to describe fast food, but I think Wendy's sandwiches are much better, Burger King no thanks, except for the Whopper Jr, McDonalds, yeah I like an occasional Big Mac.

I think of it as a time saver..... ;)

You can consume an Angus Third Pounder -Bacon and Cheese and a Large Chocolate Triple Thick Milkshake and you are done for the day !

1940 Calories and 119% of your Daily Sodium in two items !

At least you can get a salad at MDs now.... Wendy's was the first big chain in the Canadian market that had a good (for fast food) salad offering.

To be fair to MDs, those figures above came from a detailed pamphlet they had available at their front counter in a Toronto store - the information is there - like alcohol and tobacco, if many people choose to ignore the data, it isn't totally the fault of the company.

But then again, I'm admittedly olde school that way.....

McDonalds owes their success to brilliant advertizing. Go for the kids and you get the parents. Many of the kids become parents and continue the tradition of taking their children to McDonalds.

McDonalds was one of the first to advertize strongly towards children; the hamburgerler, kids play area, happy meals, etc. The food is mediocre, nothing special compared to other fast food places, and others have tried to copy McDonalds advertizing.

Only recently (past few years) have many of the fast food places started advertizing towards adults with healthier choices.

I agree with the store on this one.

Our Timmies (I dont really do McD so I cant really speak to it) has half the tables filled with old dudes sitting there for hours sipping their ONE coffee, meaning that those tables are not available for guys like me when I want to drop in for a quick break at lunch. Signs are up saying that there is a 30 min limit, yet it really never is enforced unless you are a a teenager hanging around. We all know why its never enforced, because these days the first thing people do is run to the media or go online as in this case. Better to NOT enforce the rule than be labeled a "Senior Hater" in the media I guess.
