Mouse SMELL

Had a mouse build a nest in my car cabin filter and it had babies. One or more died. I've changed the cabin filter, pulled the blower motor and cleaning it out good. Still smell's like dead mouse. Is there a way to clean out the vents without tearing my car completely apart? Got some sort of bag in the car that's suppose absorb smells, but still stinks.
It's only be a little over a week, will time heal this?

If you can get your hands on an Ozone machine, that should do it in 4-8 hrs and every other smell in the car as well. May be ablee to rent one?

Had one die in my truck. I stuck the end of the leaf blower in the door and let it run about 30 minutes. Didn't completely clear the smell but it sure helped it a lot.

Had one die in the insulation of the kitchen oven, after 2 years of use, had to buy a new one. Smell never went away. Good luck.

I had a mouse beheaded in the squirrel cage blower so I had to pull the motor. They entered the system through the air intake as I found stored dog food in the filter box. You could still have a dead mouse somewhere in the duct system. When I removed mine the smell was gone.

I keep d-con packets in the trunk, engine compartment and under the driver's seat. I started doing that when I spotted wires with chew marks in the engine compartment. Nice part about d-con, mouse dies from that they only smell slightly and not for long, mostly just a "musty odor".

I had the same problem with mice and the cabin air filter. Finally, I installed some wire mesh on the air intake above that filter, under the cowl. It was difficult but worth the effort. My vehicle is a Toyota Highlander but I'm sure there are other cars where there is easy access to the ventilation system.
