As far as changing tires by hand I have done ATV and trailer tires and yes it’s worth the 20 bucks to have someone else do it /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
and about setting the bead I have recently discovered (after using the strap wrench thingy) that if I user the air hose quick release minus the air chuck tool and remove the valve core and put the quick release over the valve stem and inflate the tire to where the bead sets and a touch more air the be quick and install the valve core. Granted it is easer to get the bead close to the rim before you try the air chuck trick.

I've used the rachet strap method alot here as a bead expander for small tires on the Cab Cadet and the Simplicity ZTR.

Recently I lost the pressure out of the front R4 tire on my B2910 - it's a very slow leak - took months to show up initially. I didn't notice it this last time and it went completely flat and unseated the bead while I was clearing snow with the FEL, so I had to drive it back to the shed loose on the rim /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I tried using the rachet strap - but with the heavy sidewalls of the R4 there was no way. Of course at the time I had just gotten 5 five stitches in my right thumb from a bandsaw accident and sorta nursing those.

I ended up taking it to the local tire shop and they popped the bead on and inflated it - no charge.
