Kubota B3000
Hi all, just signed in but have been reading here for some time. Great site! Ok so here's my question and yes it may be stupid. LOL. I have a little Kubota B3000 with a front mount blower and a rear 6' blade with hydraulic cylinder I mounted to rotate the blade. I have also fab up some hydraulic shoes to the front of my blower as so I can raise the blower to do gravel will leaving the joystick in the float mode and once back to pavement I can lower to original position. The idea is not to have to get out of the tractor. There are times I would like to push snow instead of using the blower. Usually when we get 1 or 2 inches of very wet snow. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen pics or ideas or even if it would work on how to mount a blade on the front of the blower? I was thinking maybe a 5 foot (ATV) blade with either quick attachment or maybe with hydraulic cylinders that would pick it up and out of the way so I could use my blower. Maybe it's just a waste of time? I could just push with the blower but it's not recommended. Thanks for looking and any suggestions.

If I were you I'd patent the hydraulic shoes and remove those photos lickity split. For thanks just make me a set, I don't live far away so I'll save you the shipping charges by picking them up.

Haha, The material alone cost me $600 not counting the fab time. I think it was well worth it. I had a set of Princess Auto round shoes with a stack of 2" washer that I would side into a holder I made for doing gravel driveways. Of course you had to get out every time you went from gravel to pave to remove them. It only took a few seconds however it means getting out of the heated cab. LOL.

Thank you. I can't say I saw any on the net when I was researching the shoe idea. Same as the blade on the front of the blower. I think if it could be rigged up you would have best of both worlds. The back blade works fine especially for scrapping the driveway down after you have finished snow blowing however it means turns your head and body sideways somewhat. For me it's mostly neck that gives me some problems and I try to use the mirrors as much as I can.

PC, your idea and execution for the height adjuster is awesome. I'm considering copying you except using linear actuators. To your question about the plow... I have the BX2750D which is 50" wide but basically the same as your blower and I think it's not rugged enough to withstand the stresses and forces caused by a plow. I want the same as you, to be able to plow 1-2" of snow without removing the blower (I have 1-2" in my driveway right now). Recently my thoughts have gone to trying to design a plow frame which would have members going forward outside of the blower or even under the blower and using the blower to raise and lower the plow. The plow frame would attach to the tractor frame. And it would have to be easy on and easy off. Not sure if it's worth the effort but fun to think about anyway.

Thank you. I know that the frame on my blower is much more rugged then the plate and U-bolts that comes with ATV blades that bolt on the under side of an ATV. One of my thoughts was to use the front blade mount and blade off an ATV because the have a built in trip if you hit something hard. Now today we had 1 to 2" of snow. The back blade did a great job of cleaning. I did push a little bit of snow with the blower, but it was very light. Not great when it's wet and pack in the blower. LOL. My other idea was to build a frame from blade to sides of blower with a hydraulic cylinder to raise blade up and down, so if I wanted to snow blow I could just lift blade out of the way. It may come to me in a dream.

Yup, I just looked at my neighbor's 4 wheeler plow and you are right about the blower frame being stronger. I think you have the right idea on using an ATV plow. I'm going to be watching for a used one on Craigs List. I know it will do what I want.
