Most of my New Deere is Home!

The good folks at Larson's Farm & Lawn in Rogersville took pity on me and let me have my tractor, FEL and box blade instead of making me wait another week for the back hoe. I picked it up yesterday afternoon and got in a few hours of seat time yesterday and today.

I am thrilled. The ePowerReverser is the bees knees. I have a Bobcat, too and the "float feature" of the FEL just blows me away. You just can't do that with most equipment.

I posted some pictures in a gallery here. I will attach the "hero" shot.

Don't know if you saw my post during the negotiations, but I struggled just a little with that decision. I drove an eHydro 3520, which is a fine tractor, but personally I couldn't justify the price difference just to get this year's model and an HST. The ePowerReverser is fantastic. I fell right into the groove with it, compared to the little time I spent in the HST where I was always looking for the brake in the wrong place --- I know, you don't need a brake - I couldn't get used to that either. And braking with my left foot? Why, when I learned to drive that would have earned you a punch in the arm from my dad or a flunking grade from the coach/drivers ed teacher. With the grading I have to do, I think twelve speeds both directions is going to be a great feature. And, I am just old enough and set in my ways enough to think that a tractor is just "supposed" to have a clutch.

Love my little Deere and glad I went with the ePR.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing with mine. Still waiting on the loader. Bucket and tooth bar are in, and everything else is set up on it, but no loader yet...

Great looking rig and I am sure you are going to be happy with it.
It's amazing how much work you can get done with these machines. I cant tell by the photo but if you did not get a toothbar for the bucket you might think about that. Sure makes digging easier. If not now........they sure make a great Christmas gift.

Got a tooth bar on my Bobcat, Mark, so that is what I'll use for the heavy digging (it's 46HP, too). The smooth edge of my FEL means that I won't have to fight the tooth bar off my Bobcat bucket anymore, and that in and of itself is cause for rejoicing.

I started to shoot a project pic Wednesday. I excavated the pad for an addition to my barn. I did the heavy digging with the Bobcat, then did some finish grading with the Deere and BB (and shot the grade with my new Stabila rotating laser level). I was going to park both rigs in their future home when it was nothing more than a flat spot in the ground, but I inadvertently ran the Bobcat out of fuel right at the end of the day. I had to leave town for business Thursday, so I'll shoot the pics Monday after I get back and get the Bobcat running again. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
