More Walnut Timber on the ground

Around here Walnut is so valuable there have been cases of theft from tree poachers. What is the white material brushed on the end of the log?

Paint I'd guess, to help stop end checking....I use any old type of paint, get it free from the local dumpster station (they keep it separate for hazard disposal). Easier to paint the log, then saw, rather than paint board ends after you saw.

I would say they used Anchorseal.

Might be....it goes on sorta white and dries to a fairly clear waxy finish. Maxbars would have to confirm. I don't use it due to cost, and couple coats of free paint works pretty good.
