Kioti CK20 HST
As usual, I have been very busy pulling stumps all throughout the front yard. I thought my Kioti and I met our match when I pulled up to a 22" Oak that was growing on top of a boulder about 2.5 ft wide by 4 ft long by 2ft thick.

First thing I had to do was fix the problem of the backhoe dragging the tractor around like a ragdoll. So I hooked it to a big truck. :D

Here is the stump after diggin around it and the major roots. It doesn't know it's about to be ripped apart by a Kioti.

Another view of it in place:

After about 1.5 hours off pulling and adjusting and pulling some more, I was able to pull the rock out and get the stump up on it's side.
For size reference the shovel is 5ft tall.

Here it is out of it's hole and being dragged against it's will.

A good side shot before I toss it in the pile of stumps to be burn and buried.

I love that tractor and wouldn't trade it anything. No way an overgrown lawn tractor is going to do this kind of work. ;)

Good work! One more bad ole stump to the pile eh? With all those granite blocks lying around and in your hole looks like you could have been diggin' in my yard.:)

I've been doing the same with my DK45S, and even it gets moved around by the BH, not dragged. It's moves from side to side enough to slam my knee into the control console. I've got to either pad that thing, or have permanent brusing on the inside of primarily my right knee, but it got my left once or twice too.

Good pics, by the way.

I thought I was the only hitting my knees, I didn't see to many posts with people admitting it.

Great job and pics.
Makes me want to go cut a tree down so I can dig the stump out:D

I don't have a pickup truck to chain my CK20 TLB to so I use the toothbar on the bucket and dig the FEL straight down to anchor the beast before digging. I also use the lateral stabilizers to slightly lift the rear end (tires still on ground) as I figure that spreads out the weight from the loaded tires. That combo works pertty well. Also, when on a slope I always put the tractor below the stump for serious tugging which helps too. Last bit of experience: after digging around the stump as much as I can before moving the tractor to a different side, I turn the tractor around and give the stump a few shoves with the FEL just to try to loosen things up a bit. If I was smart enough to leave two to three feet of stump this leverage/pushing with the FEL is helpful. Sometimes I forget and cut the tree close to the ground thinking I can just mow over it but generally it works better to leave a good yard of stump for leverage.

I'd love to have a "claw" attachment that would somehow attach to the BH without needing to actually completely remove the bucket. The claw would be great for ripping through the lateral roots.
