Haha, I actually do it all the time as well. Hop on and go to take off and can't figure out why your not going anywhere.

However that is not the problem.

I've got a J2023H, virtually same machine as the J2025H. I haven't done any real work with it yet, but also curious about turning up the fuel a bit, if I ever need a few extra ponies for mowing. I understand the risks. Just curious if anyone has tinkered with the Mitsubishi engine in these tractors. Mine smokes black pretty good upon start up, so maybe it's already been "adjusted." ?? I'm not the original owner.

Yep, 100% positive. If the anchor is strong enough, the rpms with drop and the engine will bog and the tires will remain stationary. It just acts like is has amazing traction and if it can't pull something it just won't move.
Did you ever resolve this? My Boomer 24 (same machine) will not spin it’s tires going up a steep slope, just slows to a stop.
