Hello

Yes Montana bought Farmtrac for 14 million . I think they have the capitol to turn this comapny around and put it back together. I cannot wait to see the look on Textron face when Montana dumps their sorry *** for a REAL!!! creditor not like the snakes in the grass they are. Just remember folks
You must put the blame on the Indians and Korea for the lack of parts you now have. I realize you may think that Montana may not be the perfect place for you at least you can get support and parts most of the time.

What percentage of Montana dealers do you think are in the financial position to change financing companies?

Montana is doing a lot of what FNA did before they belly-upped: loading units, offering crazy discounts. Either the orig sticker tag is massively exaggerated or somebody's trying to make it REAL enticing for dealers to load up.

And here's another similar theme: Beeeee-aver Creeeeeek.

Talk to me, JQ.

Does anyone know how many tractors Montana has acquired in this deal? Will they be painted green or stay blue? What else did they acquire with the purchase. 14 million is a lot of dough to be spendind during these tough times.

Hog-meister: Here are some estimations backed by a fair bulk of research.

TRACTORS
There are about 960 units on the Tarboro lot and about 200 on the Collins, MS lot. About 240 of the Tarboro units are assembled. Not 100 percent certain, but wouldn't surprize me if all the Collins, MS units are assembled. The latter was a hustling little place.

COLOR
They're blue now -- except for the 6 sitting out in the middle of Montana property off of Western Blvd. But the shiny padlocks, galvanized metal chains and fresh Montana signage scream "action's a happenin'" without sayin' a word.

Count on 'em being mean green in short order -- or stripped down for parts. That'd prob be a large enough bevy to bouy the "small unit" fleet for awhile.

WHAT ELSE THEY GET
Prob the land et al -- despite the "assets only" mantra from Wade et al. Since Textron's probably picking up the tab, why not? I'll confirm what Montana end up with tomorrow.

LOTTA DOUGH? IT'S ALL RELATIVE
To Montana, it's alot. To TFC -- who in February boasted of "a portfolio of more than $13.2 billion", it's a kick in the bucket -- one that can be easily be penciled into the ledger lines by one of their fleet of accountants paid to manipulate and dissapate shrinkage to serve the Empire's cause.

This is my first post, more of a reader than anything. But.......if Montana bought anything, dont you guys think it's their business to do so? Farmtrac was a good company from what I know, it was ran into the ground due to poor management and greed. It's a sad story, feel bad for everyone involved. But, from what I have read I cant see that having anyone coming in from overseas and purchasing it would have made any difference. I look forward to dealing with anyone from the good ole' USA the next time I buy, I dont care where it's made. At least by them purchasing whatever the agreement was for.........the money is staying at home. Blue/Green, signs or no signs, new chains or the one Long hung on the gate himself........what does it matter? It's done, I'm sure that if they supposedly paid 14+ million for it, some good will come of it. I for one, am not going to speculate on whos the big bad wolf, but rather sit back and see what kind of sheep this farmer puts out and what he does to protect them. Nuff said.

Good points my friend! There are alot of anxious people involved in all this, emotions can be high when dealing with the "unknown" and the "I wonder..." When the deal is finalized I am sure there is going to be some good news for some people, some bad news for others. But at least by Montana buying up Farmtrac, something started happening. Montana is getting good products, hopefully some really good Farmtrac dealers, and some wonderful employees!
