montana 4940c

Just bought a 2005 4940c and we are servicing it. My question is why are there 2 drain plugs on the bottom of the oil pan?

If your 4940 is like my 2740, the oil pan straddles the front drive shaft, so there has to be a way to drain both sides. The front axle is similar, having multiple drain plugs....Congrats on your purchase:thumbsup:. Those are great tractors...Dan.

My 2006 4940C is the same way.

I too have a 2006 4940C with two drain plugs, one for each side of the pan. Drain and clean both......
By the way my Montana is blue and has LG/Montana on the hood.:thumbsup:
