After being patient for over a year, I finally come across a good deal on a box blade. A heavy equip. dealer a few miles down the road also had a lot across the street where they sold Mahindra tractors. The dealer dropped the Mantra line in order to concentrate on the heavy equip. and moved all the implements to the back of their lot. I knew they were a Monroe Tufline dealer at one time when they sold tractors. I was calling around the other day and comparing prices when I decided to give them a call and see if they could still get them. The guy told me he still had some in non inventory stock and were letting them go at cost, which ended up being $550.00 + tax. I hooked up the trailer and went and bought one. Here are some pics.

Looks like a good deal. I paid $395 for a 4' Monroe Tufline on July 22, 1996. It was virtually indestructable. Thirteen plus years later and the larger size; not bad at all.

I got a quote from them on the very same box about a year ago, when they still sold tractors, and they were a tad under a thousand. I feel like I got a pretty good deal.

Good price on the box blade. Do you have the name of the dealer you bought it from? Thanks

GULF SOUTH EQUIPMENT on Hooper Rd. in Baton Rouge La. They also had a few 5' box blades also. Where are you located?

I have a 6 foot Tufline box, been a very good tool to have around. I currently use it behind a Kuboto 5030 but the 1st 20 years of its life it was behind my JD 2550. Never broke anything on it, just replaced the cutting edges several times. A hydraulic toplink makes it much more useful.

dawoodwa,
I agree. A hydraulic top link makes a box blade much easier to use. I have one on mine. You can see it a couple of the pictures I posted in the first thread.

jdw96flstc,
Jackson MS is about 150 miles from me. I was up there a few weeks ago for some company business. Thats not a bad trip at all. I live about four miles from GSE, so if I can help you out on this end let me know.

That Tuffline boxblade is a good deal for the $550 regardless of the list price. Talking to my Deere dealer last week and inquiring about a pull type disk and he mentioned that the Frontier disks were made by Tuffline.
