Chipper Modified yard machine chips Balsam boughs

My wife wanted some chopped up Balsam Fir (Christmas Tree) boughs for Balsam pillows. So, lacking access to a small brush chopper, I modified this yard machine to do the job. Not only did it chip the brush down to a usable size, but it also scattered it across much of the yard! I was, however, able to collect enough of the chips for her to make some great smelling pillows!
In Case you haven't figured out what it is, the process helps to keep my mower deck clean...(On my 14 hp CASE hydrostatic tractor)

Interesting idea. I will say I never heard of the pillows you mentioned. Are'nt they kinda prickery though ?

Balsam needles are NOT like Spruce and the chips are pretty small, having had the larger pieces screened out. Come to northern New England and you'll see Balsam pillows in every country gift shop...

Remember back in the day when my grandparents had real goose down feather pillows and they every so often would make their way out and poke you during the nite.....
