Recently my Mahindra salesman asked if there was anything I did not like about my 2615 HST. I said the only thing coming to mind that due to the location of the hydraulic valve, it would be hard to exit the right side of the tractor, mainly in case of emergency. I told him I wished the controls were in a different position. In my mind I was thinking I'd prefer having them located toward the rear fender, as on many tractors.

He told me the position of the valve stand assembly was adjustable. There are two bolts at the bottom of the valve stand. When loosened, the stand will tilt forward, or backward. This adjustment may have been obvious to some, but since it isn't pointed out in the manual, I don't know if I would ever have noticed this feature.

This morning I went out and moved mine all the way forward. This helps a great deal, but I am just 5' 8", and 145lbs. A big guy will still have difficulty getting out on the right. So, now there is more exit room, but will I find it too tiring doing a lot of loader work with my arm fully extended, rather than in a more bent, relaxed position? Time will tell.

It must have been just the way they mounted your valve stand during assy. I'm 6'1" ,230lb and never had a problem getting off mine using the right side.

Actually, that is covered in all of the newer, bigger models. I do not believe that the positions were originally adjustable on that loader, but that feature was worked in when we changed valve suppliers. I will have to see if I can get that revised in the manuals. Even on the bigger ones where it is called out in the manual... u would be shocked how many calls I have taken about the handles either being too close or too far away. Shocks me how many people sign those loan contracts, but can't even read the manual.

You have to remember to include LOTS of pictures in the manuals. You do know that most of us don't read them we just browse thru the pictures.

That is true George, however, in case you lose 60 -70 lbs, you can adjust it back if you want. Seriously, it was so close my cat could reach the control lever.
